Generalised Anxiety Disorder

A person with generalised anxiety disorder has a high level of anxiety most of the time, which is caused by excessive worry. People with generalised anxiety disorder tend to worry consistently and out of all proportion over fairly minor things such as their health, work, finances and normal family ups and downs.

The worry and anxiety is hard to control, even though the person may recognise that it is out of proportion. People with generalised anxiety disorders also tend to worry gloomily about the future. The constant worry and anxiety can contribute to physical problems such as headaches, tiredness, indigestion and insomnia.
