“The curious paradox is that when I accept myself just as I am, then I can change.“ Carl Rogers

Azni has been counselling and coaching clients to manage conflict in work and personal relationships, develop career direction and build leadership skills for 20+ years. In recent years, Azni has been working with young people in university and high school settings providing counselling to manage academic pressure, family relationships, friendships issues, grief and loss, anxiety and depression, and build social confidence.

Azni’s counselling approach involves providing support, a sounding board, helping clarify, and working with clients to reduce distressing symptoms.  Azni will help you identify the cause of problems and develop resilience and confidence to address these issues.  You will gain a greater awareness of what is important to you, your strengths and values, helping you to establish a clear direction and the confidence to take action.

Azni’s approach is underpinned by the humanistic philosophy which espouses that we all grow in positive ways if provided with supportive conditions.  This includes being person centred, showing genuine care, acceptance and empathy so clients are empowered to explore what is important to them.  This approach is supported by techniques in Cognitive Behaviour Therapy, Interpersonal Processes and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy.
