Lirelle Bennett

PG Dip Hsc Alcohol and Drug Studies, BHSc (Health Sciences)

Lirelle's experience in working in inpatient withdrawal and rehabilitation settings, alongside providing counselling in the community around substance use and concerns around anxiety, depression , shame, and grief to name a few,  lends itself to a non-judgemental approach which priorities the therapeutic relationship.

In appreciating the natural fears inherent in reducing from Benzodiazepines, Lirelle uses a collaborative approach, guiding a gradual and safe reduction. She will build a safe space for you to better understand and manage sources of distress and dissatisfaction which may emerge during this process. Lirelle draws from a range of therapeutic modalities to fit your unique experiences and needs as you reduce. With an emphasis on enhancing your own sense of confidence and ability to make the changes you want in life, Lirelle’s therapeutic practice includes brief Psychodynamic therapy, Motivational Interviewing, Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), and skills focussed on emotional regulation and interpersonal effectiveness.
